Could you lead a programme that addresses major freshwater environmental issues? If so, you could be part of an international environmental charity that’s achieving great things: Earthwatch.
About us
Earthwatch is committed to conserving the diversity and integrity of life on earth. Our mission is to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education, in order to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. As part of our team, you can help us take a big step forward.
About the role
Your challenge will be to build a worldwide network of high impact freshwater research projects. You will be responsible for setting the framework and strategy behind the global research programme and for leading the teams involved. It’s a chance to work with our people across many regions and departments, using your vision to oversee the design of individual projects. You will identify the important issues, co-ordinate a global community of staff and produce high quality proposals that will lead to further support, so we can expand the programme.
About you
An established PhD scientist, you have led scientific programmes concerning freshwater environmental issues before. You have the expertise and qualifications to design and evaluate global research projects, plus the ability to translate organisational strategy into objectives. What’s more, you have an in-depth understanding of the environmental sustainability agenda.
It is important that you can manage and direct teams, many of which will be in core Earthwatch regions such as Asia and Latin America. Fluency in French, German, Mandarin or Spanish or another language would be ideal. Fluent English is essential. We will also be looking for strong written skills and a track record of winning funding for freshwater research.
This is your opportunity to make a major contribution to improving environmental sustainability. To find out more about us, visit earthwatch.org
