Forest Governance Campaigner at FERN - Brussels, Belgium

Αναζήτηση Θέματος

The non-governmental organisation FERN is looking for a new campaigner to become part of its forest governance team, working at the EU level and with partner organisations in the Global South to improve forest governance, including by effectively implementing the EU FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) Programme.

The successful applicant will work as part of FERN’s team; be hard working, politically astute, socially adept, dynamic, flexible, able to multi-task (networking, advocacy, researching and writing) and culturally sensitive. S/he will need to be able to liaise easily with both EU officials and grassroots organisations specifically in Central and Western Africa.

FERN is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and a Dutch Stichting created in 1995 to keep track of the European Union’s involvement in forests and coordinate NGO activities at the European level. Our work centres on forests and forest peoples’ rights and the issues that affect them such as trade and investment and climate change. All of our work is done in close collaboration with social and environmental organisations and movements across the world. The name FERN was chosen because ferns are one of the few species that grow in all forests.

To apply, please send your CV and a letter explaining your reasons for applying for the job and wanting to work for FERN to gianni@fern.org by 24th November at 9.00 am. Applications sent without a cover letter will not be considered.
